Accepting these terms
These terms apply to the Auto Refresh Web - Monitor browser extension (the "extension"), published by Extension.lat. By installing or using it you accept them. If you do not, uninstall the extension. They apply in addition to the terms of the store you installed it from (Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons).
Your licence
The extension is licensed, not sold. As long as you follow these terms, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it to refresh and monitor web pages. Ownership of the software, its design and its name stays with us.
You agree not to:
- redistribute, repackage or sell the extension, or publish it under another name;
- modify or reverse engineer it beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- tamper with or abuse its email alert or configuration services, for example by sending automated or forged requests;
- present a modified build as an official release.
Responsible use
Reloading a page automatically sends real requests to someone else's server. You are responsible for how you configure the extension, and you agree not to use it to:
- overload a website, or refresh so often that it degrades the service for other people;
- get around rate limits, queues, purchase limits, CAPTCHAs or other access controls;
- access content or accounts you are not authorised to access;
- break the law or the terms of the sites you visit.
Choose the longest interval that does the job. Many sites block, rate-limit or ban clients that reload too often, and that is between you and the site.
Sites you refresh and monitor
The extension works on websites we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, or how they react to automated refreshes. Some sites prohibit automated access in their own terms; it is up to you to check before monitoring them.
Features that act on a page for you — such as auto-click on a matched element — do exactly what you configured. Review those settings before relying on them for anything that matters, like a purchase, a booking or a form submission.
Alerts are best effort
Notifications, sounds and emails are sent as soon as the extension detects a match, but detection depends on things outside our control: the browser keeping the tab and the extension running, the computer being awake and online, the site loading normally, the page structure not changing, and email providers delivering messages without delay or spam filtering.
Do not rely on the extension as the only way to learn about something time-critical, safety related or financially important. We do not guarantee that any alert will be delivered, or delivered on time.
Free and premium features
The extension is free to install, and its core refresh and monitoring features are free to use. Some advanced options may be offered as premium features. When they are, the price and what they unlock are shown before you pay, and any purchase is governed by the terms presented at that point. We may change which features are free or premium in future versions; a change will not take away a feature you have already paid for during the period you paid for it.
Privacy
How the extension handles data — what stays on your device, what is sent for email alerts and usage statistics, and your choices — is described in the Auto Refresh Web - Monitor Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
No warranty
The extension is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will work with every site, or that browsers will keep supporting the features it relies on.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Extension.lat and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, opportunity or goodwill — including a missed alert, a missed purchase or booking, or a site blocking your access — arising from your use of the extension. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the extension in the twelve months before the claim, which for the free version is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Ending use
You can stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes the data it stored in your browser. We may stop offering the extension, or block access to its online services for anyone who breaks these terms.
Changes
We may update the extension and these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the same law and jurisdiction as our website terms. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
