The short version
Extension.lat is a static website. There is no account to create, no tracking cookie, no advertising network and no analytics profile built about you. The only personal data we handle is what your browser must send to load a page, and whatever you choose to put in an email to us.
Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere. That is the complete list of what this site stores on your device.
Who is responsible
The operator of extension.lat is the data controller for the processing described here. For any question, request or complaint about personal data, write to privacy@extension.lat. We answer in English or Spanish, and we reply to every request even when the answer is that we hold nothing about you.
What we collect
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the referring page, and the user agent string. These logs exist to keep the site online and to detect abuse. We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not combine them with anything else.
Email you send us
If you write to us — a bug report, a feature request, a question — we receive your email address, your name if you give one, and the content of your message. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of what changed in an extension and why.
Local storage on your device
We store a single value, theme, in your browser local storage so the site
remembers whether you chose light or dark. It never leaves your device, it is not a cookie, and
clearing your browser data removes it. See the Cookie Policy for
details.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, passwords or profiles.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no cross-site identifiers.
- No third-party analytics, heatmaps, session recording or chat widgets.
- No social network embeds, which are trackers wearing a costume.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from third-party CDNs — everything is served from this domain.
- We never sell, rent or share personal data. There is no data business here to sell it to.
Why we are allowed to
For readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal basis under the GDPR is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for the security and delivery of the website, and performance of a request you initiated (Article 6(1)(b)) or consent (Article 6(1)(a)) when you email us. There is no processing here that would require consent for cookies or tracking, because there is no tracking.
Who else is involved
Two categories of provider process data on our behalf: the hosting provider that serves these pages, and the email provider that carries our correspondence. Both act as processors under written terms, and neither is permitted to use the data for their own purposes. We will name our current providers on request at privacy@extension.lat.
How long we keep it
- Server logs: retained by the host for a short technical window, typically no more than 30 days, then rotated out.
- Email: kept while the conversation is open and afterwards only where it documents a change to a listing. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
- Local storage: stays until you clear your browser data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in jurisdictions with different data protection rules. Where that involves personal data of people in the EEA or the UK, transfers rely on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Readers in Latin America have equivalent rights under national law, including Brazil LGPD, Colombia Ley 1581 de 2012, Mexico LFPDPPP and Argentina Ley 25.326.
Send requests to privacy@extension.lat. We answer within 30 days. In practice most requests are answered the same week, because the honest answer is usually that we hold nothing beyond an email thread. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
The extensions have their own policies
This policy covers this website. Each of our extensions is separate software with its own privacy policy, published alongside it in the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons listings, and that policy is what governs the extension once it is installed.
The short version is the same everywhere: our extensions do their work inside your browser, they do not require an account, and they do not send the pages you visit to us or to anyone else. The page for each extension on this site lists the permissions it requests and what each one is used for.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to privacy@extension.lat and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and material changes are noted on the home page for a period afterwards. We do not make changes retroactive: data collected under an older version stays governed by the terms in force when it was collected.
Questions about any of this go to hello@extension.lat.
